Is it time for a changing of the West Indies guard?
The 2020 edition of the Caribbean Premier League begins today with several players eyeing a permanent spot in the West Indies Maroon
The return of Franchise cricket in the shape of the CPL is another small step towards the sports full resumption.
Previews, Podcasts and written analysis have been produced ad infinitum vis-a-vis the six teams.
However something that hasnt been written about in any depth is the significance of CPL re: West Indies selection in 2021.
The 2020 T20 World Cup may have been postponed but there will be another one, now in India, in just over a year.
Largely speaking it can be said that the core of the West Indies XI is already clear (injuries and form notwithstanding) but with Chris Gayle set to be 42 and Dwayne Bravo 38 by 2021, now might be the time to consider a changing of the guard.
