Can West Indies rise from the Ashes?

Two days out from the humiliation against England and West Indies have it all to do tomorrow against South Africa.

A game that despite only being 4 days into the tournament already has all the hallmarks of a loser leaves town game. Neither batted well in their openers but both showed heart and fight in the field and with the ball.

Yet all the noise coming from the West Indies camp suggests that this performance is being consigned to the rubbish bin as an aberration rather than a true reflection of where the team is at.

Phil Simmons hasnt instructed his team to reign in their attacking instincts choosing instead to focus on their poor shot execution and lack of game awareness when wickets were falling vs England.

The expectation from the fans is that West Indies will bounce back with a much better performance vs the Proteas and with that in mind I had a look at the possible selection permutations.

Many in the Caribbean have demanded the selection of Roston Chase but whilst his inclusion has some merit it may not be that simple to get him into the starting XI
