I love the idea of Pooran but people have to realistic about his development. He has recovered from a serious injury and only played 3 FC matches, I think the expectation will be that he whacks it from 6 or 7 in the order but we have to just look at Jos Buttler or Rishabh Pant and their muddled roll and allow Pooran to grow. I have no doubt he can become a good test batter but everyone has to be patient with him.
Yeah, good point on the patience and comparison with Buttler/Pant- you could possibly add Glenn Maxwell in there also. I read recently in Wisden that he wasn't sure his body would hold up post accident, so he prioritised white ball cricket - he reckons he is good to go in First Class cricket now, so if that is the case then I'd love to see him put a strong case forward in the next domestic championship and get him into an A Team. I'd see him in a similar role to Hetmyer, who I'd forgotten is actually younger than Pooran
